You Better Work
Q1 has been getting the best of me in a great way. In December after returning from Miami for Christmas vacation, I holed up in my apartment and dumped all of the ideas that have been swimming around in my head for months, years, from time into a five page google doc. Then I just started doing them. I’m still doing them in my little ways.
Some of my ideas are very grand, and I was quickly humbled when they were shot down. but it was a necessary clarifying check on what genre I am dreaming in. Rejection has helped me understand the steps necessary in between the end goal. Some of it has been improving visual quality, faster editing and turnaround time, talking less (LOL), and allowing myself to have fun.
Last weekend I worked on one of my google doc ideas, something that I’m really proud of called “Make Taste” the will be centered around tastemaking. I produced, shot and started editing after work (until 2 AM two nights in a row) this content idea that has been living in my head for months and I finally just took a stab at it. I invited my friend Chanel to join me and created a piece of content that I’m super proud of.
A couple weeks my friend Mariah asked me what I would do if money wasn’t a factor, and my answer was surprising. I’m going to keep it to myself, but it felt so right. I’m going to stay the course to bring it to life for myself and anyone else who needs it.
There’s so much more to be done, but I feel a lot of pride in the ways my creative output has improved presently, and my friend Mariah’s too. We had so many convos and creative planning sessions almost two years ago about working together to build our creative portfolios and we’ve gotten to a point where the creative spark… SPARKS.
The visions are there, and just waiting on me to walk into it. I can’t wait to create more, and even more I can’t wait to refine, iterate and perfect as my skills and resources continue to be abundant ✨I hope you all are staying motivated and inspired in Q1 and living out your Dream Sequence tiny step by step.
