Modern Western, Miley Cyrus.

It’s town. It’s country.

I know you’ve seen it. If not, here’s a photo of one of the most important uses of color in a home this year. Miley Cyrus’ Southern California home, designed by her mother Tish. Of course, I’m loving the mother-daughter collaboration vibes. But mostly I am so stimulated by the juxtaposition of black + rainbow. In a sea of minimalist and beige (no shade) interiors, someone did it. They used color. They used animal print. They topped it off with a little western rocker flair. I’m crushing hard on Tish and her design partner for creating such a layered, fun and wild space.

It got me thinking a bit about what western, alpha feminine could look like so I made a little mood board utilizing the Zinzi throw pillow. How do you feel about implementing a colorful rocker vibe in a space in your home?
